Is it in human nature to view the biological process of aging as something natural and irreversible? However, current scientific knowledge and evidence from the animal kingdom show us that this process is not as unchangeable as we once believed. In fact, it can be influenced by certain interventions and even slowed down.
During this lecture, we will therefore discuss various aspects such as nutrition, sleep, mental well-being and physical activity, and show what real effect they have not only on longevity but also on extending the part of life we spend in good health (the so-called healthspan). It turns out that aging itself is the greatest risk factor for most chronic diseases and is also a major source of suffering and pain around the world. It is therefore in the interest of society to strive to better understand this process.
Miloslav Šindelář is a Czech nutrition therapist and co-author of the books Moderní výživa and Moderní hubnutí, who has long been dedicated to popularizing scientifically based information about health, nutrition and longevity. In his lectures, he clearly explains how nutrition, physical activity, sleep and recovery influence energy, performance and overall quality of life.
